正月に30到達していました。念願のengineerになってしばらく経ちましたのでアビリティーの感想とかグダグダ羅列。アビリティーの解説は他のサイトで和訳しているところもあるので説明を省きます。
1.アビリティー
・Base Wave
よっぽどじゃないと使わないというか使ったことない。ダメですか？
・Turret
60秒だけ働いてくれるちっちゃな砲台を設置。1台しか使えないしダメージソースとしての期待もできないしターゲット指定もできない使えない子。せめて自分を攻撃しているmob優先でやってくれ。真相を知らない人に「いいな～」と言ってもらえるだけのアビリティー。
(2008/1/21追記)Turretは5段階まで上げると複数台設置が可能の様子。そうなるとかなりTUEEEEEE
(2008/1/27追記)4段階目からokだった様子。
・Trap
見た目Turretと同じ砲台を同じ60秒だけ召還。ダメージはTurretと変わらないと思われるが、hateを稼いでくれるので自分が狙われることが少なくなり、mobが大量のときに召還。ただし1台しか召還できないので、本格的に大量だとダメ。
解説ではtrap damageってのがあるらしいのだけれども確認できない。消滅するエフェクトはTurretと同じ。
・Bot Construction
ふわふわと頭上に浮かぶミニロボット。大して強くない。
botもhateを稼いでくれるが、速攻で壊れているので火力としては微妙。更にそのhateが飼い主に移っているように思うのですが気のせいでしょうか。
何もなければ4分間もつらしいのだが戦闘中に4分間もった記憶がない。硬くなってくれるとありがたいのだが期待できないだろう。
・Temporary Wormhole
店売りされているので存在意義のないアビリティー認定。触媒を使わないくらいに進化して欲しい。
2.戦い方
はっきり言って、今までと何も変わらず銃器をぶっ放してheal workするだけです。duoで遊びに行くときに、せいぜいTrap砲台を出すくらい。
Bot出してTrapとTrretを使って気合をいれると、大量のmobを一人で相手にするのは一番得意なclassかもしれません。でもDPSが低めなので、回復が早いmob1匹相手だと自分も死なないがmobも殺せないタイプ。常に攻撃される回数を減らすことを念頭にしてself healで延命しながらの長期戦になります。あまり爽快ではありません。
3.感想とか
Engineerは、DPSは最低レベルで長時間生き延びるclass。そうなると立ち位置もやや後ろ側でhateを取らないで前衛のダメージを減らす働きをするのがよさげです。soloやduoが多いので難しいところですね。愛が芽生えているのでいいんですけど、もうすこし補助的機能があればもすこし楽しそうです。
Demolitionistをクローンで作ってみましたが、こちらは爆弾魔でAEダメージがメイン。範囲攻撃に特化した攻撃手段を持ち、AEでのトータルダメージは出せますが、1匹相手だとDPSがなくて防御も弱いというsoloでは使えない子認定。
groupでの戦闘ならば、手にシールド修理装置を持ちながら爆弾投げまくりで楽しいです。破産申告しました。

There is definitely a disconnect between academics and the real world, and it’s easy to say “ok the academics are over there and the people who are DOING the work are right here.” But when you’re in the trenches it’s sometimes a relief to know that the academics are paying attention to the bigger picture, so we don’t have to. The confusion with academics for me comes in when they try to make a point about something that’s happening now without really being in it (or having never been in it, for some).The bad writing…. well, that’s just inexcusable, but here’s to hoping it’s not an epidemic.

I loved the article, and I find information like this liberating, but I always get hung up on the financial picture. Item #1 is an important point for maintaining the future of a farming enterprise (or any enterprise, really), but it always leaves me begging the question, How? How do I get started in farming without debt? I’ve got a very deep hunger to try it, to farm just as my family has done for generations, but since I don’t have access to land, or the money to attain land for myself, I just don’t know how to move forward at this point beyond dreaming and reading.

Hmm. Though I don’t have children yet, my hope would be to raise a well-rounded child who is both supported, encouraged and loved. I’m not picking “sides” and only have a basic grasp of these ideas of parenting styles, but I can’t see myself falling into the tiger camp. I’m far from a prodigy, but I grew up with parents who nurtured my talents while encouraging me to work harder in the areas that didn’t come naturally (like, um, math. And science). I hope to follow their example.

I’ve never seen a cat eat peppers! One of my cats once chewed a bit of lettuce, but that’s it. Too bad for the mizuna though, I love that veggie.I don’t like parsnips too much either, and I hope I won’t be getting too many from my new farmer this winter.

I’ll admit, I’m one of those who have never heard of vertical marathons! What an interesting concept. I can’t imaging running over 1000 stairs in 7 mins, or 11 for that matter! It’s made me think though, can you pass people while running? I know when I’m running I just go around those at a slower pace than I, how does that work in such a race? Hi Margareth, oven temp is very important with macarons – I just made some today and the oven had been turned off when I had not realized, even though I turned it straight back on they turned out cracked and with no foot – so yes I think your oven temp is the issue. Try 160 and if that does not work try a friends oven. It seems unusual to me the the oven would not go lower – it is not in degrees F is it? I am guessing not as you still managed to bake them and at 160 F they would not bake.

I use (free) RSSReader which is lovely and simple to use. Library down the side, and two larger windows – headlines on top and main body of text on bottom.Tried Feed Reader and the Guardian jobbie, but I didn’t like them at all.
